The Karnataka State government has announced Subsidy Committee for Quality Kannada films for the year 2011 on Thursday.

Veteran producer SD Ankalgi heads the subsidy committee. Veteran journalist – man of information and wide knowledge in Kannada cinema B N Subramanya – Banasu – is one of the nine members.

The films released for 2010-2011 are eligible for selection of subsidy amount of Rs.10 lakhs. The number of films to be picked is 75.

Director Umashanker Swara, K Chennagangappa, theatre personality Dr Sujatha Jangama Shetty, Kunigal Nagabhushan, Amaradeva, BS Manohar are the other members in the Subsidy committee to picks films on the basis of quality.
